Take-home pay workshop: United States and Canada
Bring a salary and work out what you would keep in each country, line by line, with the assumptions in view.
Sat, Nov 14 · 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM EST
Starts in 19 days
About this session
A hands-on session for people choosing between the United States and Canada. We enter a salary together, read each line of the result, and talk about what the estimate leaves out.
This is a workshop, so you will be using the after-tax pay calculator with your own numbers as we go. Nothing you type is sent to us.
What you will do#
- Enter a gross salary and compare the two destinations
- Read the assumptions beside each result
- Note down what is outside the estimate (regional taxes, deductions, benefits)
- Decide which questions to ask a payroll adviser or employer

Questions
Do I need an account?
No. A name and an email address are enough to register. An account only helps you keep your registrations in one place.
Will this give me legal, tax or immigration advice?
No. Sessions explain how to compare and what to ask. For decisions about your own status or taxes, speak to a qualified, authorized adviser.
